73. It happened/happens to me….. again!!

Airhostess (announcement): “The seatbelt sign has been switched off, however for your own safety…blah ..blah.. blah… refreshments will be served shortly. We will be serving food for the children first.”
Me (Gosh! I’m so hungry, now I will have to wait till all those pesky kids are fed! Hmph! )
Airhostess (reaches the row behind my seat, with her food trolley and her one-liner): ”We will be serving the children first”.
Me (How much longer?! Sigh!...The smell of food made my tummy growl)
Airhostess (reaches my row and repeats her chant): “We are serving the children first”
Me (Alright get on with it fast. There are no children over here……. Wait! Was she looking in my direction?!!!)
I gave her a meaningful ‘matured’ smile just incase.. you know.. to avoid any confusion…
Airhostess (her eyes and wide smile fixed on me): “Do you want veg meals or non-veg meals?”
Me (swallowing my pride along with a few years of my age): “Okay, veg meals please”

I was served orange juice with the meal. No wine. No coffee. No tea. :-|

71. Nam Wah Pai!

Even I don't know what that means. I came across this term for the first time during my initial jobless days in NUS when all that I used to do were whine about the high cost of living, whine about the high tuition fee and then whine again about the high food prices.

If it were not for the orientation programs conducted by the innumerable clubs and faculties in the campus, I would have died of either too much whining or too much boredom or too much loneliness, if not of too much joblessness. There are a lot of departments and clubs in the uni, and each of them organize various fun activities at the beginning of the semester for introducing themselves to the newcomers. Most of these events not only involve various interesting  activities, but often food and goody bags are also provided for all those who drop in to help them fill their seats. I see these as perfect opportunities to get back at least a fraction of the money invested in the exorbitant tuition fee at NUS. Sometimes these goody bags are really good with really goody stuff. So far I have managed to collect items ranging from Coffee mugs, water bottles, notebooks, t-shirts, post-it notes, travel pillow, marker pens , gift vouchers etc.

Thus my calendar, during the initial parts of the semester was filled with the schedules of all the orientations in various departments and those with either goody bags or free food were highlighted.

Coming back to Nam Wah Pai, it was one of the orientation programs that I happened to attend. Like I said before, I didn't have any clue as to what it was, other than that it was some kind of sport and free refreshments would be provided. Yes free food...so I didnt have to think twice ;)

I arrived 20 minutes late for the event, helping to reinforce the general opinion of the Singaporeans that Indians indeed have poor time-management skills :-/

From the costume of the students there, I figured out it was some kind of martial arts. The students were working out in pairs -one helping the other to stretch. It was the warm-ups. I stood there watching and wondering how silly this looked, when 'Master Shifu' asked me to join in. I was to help a girl to do the stretches in a similar manner. Piece of cake...or so I thought...

And...

I found out she was quite flexible!...way too flexible... I was so afraid to help her stretch too much, fearing that her back might just break into two! But she just kept insisting to push her back down and down until her torso and legs touched. There were few other scary stretches like the ones shown below, and I was glad to finally get done with it.

Little did I know my happiness was short-lived for it was my turn to be stretched next. I found that my entire body was stiff, and my torso, legs and other joints couldnt stretch beyond 30 degree angle. But I had help -from the girl whom I had helped a little while ago. And gosh did she help!! I felt my entire body being ripped apart and feared that my ligaments and bones would snap any moment. I was cursing her under my breath, wondering if she had some personal grudge against me. :-|

Phew! And after two excruciating hours of more torture, I limped back to my hostel munching a tuna sandwich, reminding myself that free food often comes at a price! :-/

Japanese stall Auntie(grins back): "You look very small la!"
Me(grin disappears :| )

68. Bleed Blue!

I had sworn that if India won the Semi-Finals, I would blog right away(after a lull of 4 months). And hence the post!

I’m neither a cricket fan, nor do I watch cricket matches often. I don’t even understand the game very well for that matter. And I can hardly name a handful of cricketers!! 11 fools playing and 11,000 fools watching....Bah!

As a rule, I pay a visit to the sports channel only when there is either Cricket -World Cup Finals, or Football -World Cup Finals, or Tennis -when Federer plays.

But the Mohali match last Wednesday had this bewitching, enchanting effect that made not just me, but millions of ‘laymen’ who are hardly acquainted with the game, feel the THRILL!!! Fingers were crossed, butterflies played their own cricket match in the stomach, heartbeats got paced up, lips kept murmuring prayers, the whole body tensed up–I know I was not the only one who went throught this experience.

I happened to watch the India-Aus quarter finals, thanks to my cricket crazy roommates. Thought of watching the match as a time-pass while preparing my dinner. But hardly a few minutes into the match, the dinner was forgotten and the half cut onions were crying for attention, while we were shouting and cheering for India. Though the match started with everyone anticipating the thrice world cup champs repeating history, our tigers eventually hunted down the kangaroos moving on to gun down the ‘terrorists’(no offense intended).

The hype created over the Mohali match was humongous. The high security alert, the terrorists threat, the No-Fly zone over Mohali, the Gilani visit, all just kept the tension at the pinnacle.

I was eagerly waiting for it to be Wednesday.

And sure enough Wednesday came, after Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday dragged by.
From morning, there was an incessant inflow of the World Cup forwards which kept chocking up my inbox. Many private companies had given half day leave to their employees also. I was cursing my ‘mokka’ company for not being 'patriotic' enough. K

There were very few people in my department. Some were on leave. Some took half day off. Both my bosses had gone for ‘site visit’. (But I have my doubts as to whether these 'site visits' are just code names for ‘watching World Cup’). The rest few who stayed back, were rooted infront of the Samsung LCD in the lobby.

However the bickering later turned to praise and adoration for my 'super-cool' company when I came to know that the match was being telecasted at our Convention Centre. It was awesome!. The lights were off –only the skylight seeping in through the small opening of the dome shaped roof lit the auditorium. The sound system was amazing –had the feel of watching a Hollywood thriller in a theater. The crowd was in full form –I never thought I would get a chance to howl and scream again after college.

Like someone rightly tweeted, very little activity happened in the Indian subcontinent in the afternoon of the March 30th- the day when India took on Pakistan!
It was not just a game. It was some sort of a battle, an epic event that will be etched in the pages of history!

The volume of the crowd in the Convention Centre kept on varying, depending on who was batting. Half the crowd disappeared after Sachin got out. I was bugging the hapless colleague who happened to sit next to me with all kinds of doubts – Who is batting? Who is bowling? What’s a power play? Is that a wide? What is a wide?........

At the same time I was 'sms'ing updates to my unfortunate friends who were restrained to their workplace.

After India’s batting got over by 6 o' clock, we hurried for home. Like I said, very few things happened in the country that day -the roads had a deserted look, the shops closed early, people were huddled around roadside TV shops. However the fast food home deliveries jumped 50% on that big day.

Sure enough my other roomies were glued to the TV by the time I reached home. We had only DD National, that too the picture quality was very poor and it was full of 'grains' most of the time. But that wasn't enough to diminish our spirits. Though we could hardly make out where the ball was going, or barely comprehend the Hindi commentary, I cheered along whenever I heard cheering from my roomies and from the neighboring houses ;)

The whole country was in jubilation after the match. It looked like Diwali came a bit too early this year.

It was one heck of a match worth watching... Tomorrow's 'Lankadahanam' is gonna turn out to be an even greater spine-tingler. And I just pray that our Bosses have yet another of those 'site visits' tomorrow. ;)

There's a dress code for office tomorrow -Blue! Yeah! We're gonna Bleed Blue!

66. Getting OLD! :O

Ahh! Those were the days! ...When thanks to Captain Planet your day was saved, and Dexter used to be your alter ego and Didi bore a striking resemblance to your annoying siblings, and Tintin used to be your only true love....

I honestly never thought that I would ever grow up enough to give up Cartoon Network. I was Razor and my brother T-bone of Swat Kats.In The Centurions, I was Ace McCloud while my cousins were Jake Rockwell and Max Ray. Jonny Quest used to be my long term crush, until I ditched him for Tintin......The stoy goes on.... I used to pity mom and dad and all those unfortunate souls out there who were deprived of the pleasures of the world of cartoons.... I’m not sure when HBO, Star Movies and NDTV took the place of my CN domain..but it did, and so completely that now I seriously don’t know whether the good ol’ CN still exists!! :O

Gone are the days when Tinkle and Balarama used to be the ultimate encyclopaedias. A transition from those comics to more ‘serious’ books were not surprising...but I used to think of storing up Archies comic strips to last me till I turned 60! Alas! even Juggy has now become bland, vapid and insipid! (Barrons’ wordlist :P )

World wars used to erupt frequently at our house when someone got us(me and bro) chocolates. I used to be such a chocolate freak! Along with Philately (collection of stamps), Numismatics (collection of coins) my hobbies also used to include ‘Candytely’ ( collection of candies) and ‘Chocomatics’( collection of chocolates). But lately chocolates rarely interest me, save for a few favourite ones( Snickers, Twix, Toblerone....)

What do all these omens portend? Am I really getting older?? Am I also becoming one of those ‘boring adults’ ???

A couple of hours back, I turned 22. And I feel soooo old already.....(But thankfully I haven’t spotted a grey hair yet!:O ) But soon I will have to hear kids calling me ‘aunty’(Sigh!).(Thanks to my unique stature I have escaped this so far ;) ) Also I would not be able to get away with taking half-tickets much longer (believe me, I still do that ;) )....
Sigh! why do time travel so fast?!!

PS: I still have a thing for roses, cushions and balloons.....in case if you are wondering what to get me for my bday :P..and recently I also happen to develop a thing for N97, fastrack watches and shades, and sony HDR ;)

54. The ‘perfect’ first day!

A new year, a new beginning –a time to set things right, learn from mistakes, start over again, hope for the year to turn out to be good. I doubt if there is any other single day hyped so much all around the world, as the New Year day!-a day of resolutions and new determinations, everyone wants the day to turn out to be PERFECT.

I certainly am not superstitious! But I always want my Jan 1 to be a perfect day, as it sort of sets the pace for the entire year. So even though I may not follow it regularly at any other part of the year, I’m particular that on this particular day, I should pray properly, dress up properly, behave nicely to everyone, flip through the pages of (long forgotten) books and learn something.....In short, Jan 1 = the complete day(since 1988 :P)

I woke up cursing the girl banging at the door threatening to break it. The cursing transformed into an alarmed shriek in an instant, when my phone blinked 7:29am at me. Gosh! I had exactly 31 minutes to ‘prepare’ for my ‘perfect’ day and hit to the class. Ran to the bathroom with my bucket –had a ‘quick’ bath and brush which consumed more than half of my total available time.

I realised I hadn’t completed the seminar ppt I was supposed to present that day. I had left the finishing touches for the morning. You see, my perfect day was supposed to start at 5:30am. But I don’t even remember when I fell asleep last night. All I remember was that I wanted to do the last post of 2009 before hitting the sack....but then it was total blackout...Hangover?!!

Call comes from home. I hadn’t wished Mom Happy New Year yet. She starts to wish me, when I cut her short and hangs up the phone quickly shouting over to her “I WOKE UP LATE!”. Apparently she had tried calling me at midnight, but remember? I don’t remember anything! :-|

No time to have breakfast either. Attending first day first class on an empty stomach! Noooo!...this is not at all my ideal day! Little did I realize then, that my fist meal of the year wasn’t until 8.00pm....I stuffed the ppt file into a pendrive, and ran to the class. I didn’t even iron my clothes...Later in class I noticed that my umm.....zipper(pant) was undone and the price tag of my new top still dangling from the back collar. Thankfully(hopefully) my top and my hair was long enough, and nobody else noticed....Reached class in time, but sweating and panting –at least I didn’t get kicked out on the first day. I thanked God. Then I realized, that I forgot to pray! :-|

I knew then and there, that the day will turn out to be a blog material.

HP’s sandals broke on the way to the class...Phew! atleast I was not the only ‘chosen one’![I know I can be a bitch at times:P]

In the steel design class, I forgot to bring the code book, which is like an indispensable part of the course. I realized that my bench-mate and I shared more things in common, than the totally lost and frustrated look on our faces. I was too proud to borrow codes from others on ‘my perfect 1st day’. So was she. Once a borrower, always a borrower. So the rest of the class, I was scribbling this post at the back of my notebook. So much for the atleast-first-day-listen-attentively-in-class resolution.
I felt really bad when our group had to shun away from presenting the seminar ppt (it was an optional course, but we spent hours searching for the materials). Said NO to a task assigned on the first day itself. L The meeting with our project guide, and the proceedings at the PAN card mela took so much time that I barely had enough time to go back to hostel and have lunch. I was hoping to have lunch from outside, with a friend, but one shouldn’t hope/expect/assume too much. It really hurts when people close to you hurts you –intentionally or unintentionally. It really does!

As luck would have it, the coffee shop too was closed. :-| I had to attend the afternoon extra class on an empty grumbling stomach. Grrr.....(that was my stomach!)

After class, a quick decision was made to pay Calicut city a visit, as a phone call informed us that our stitched blouses are awaiting us. The bus journey to city was as horrible as ever. The newly inaugurated fly-over did little to improve the traffic condition. Felt thoroughly exhausted and pukish by the time we reached Westlife. Thankfully, the saree and the blouse had escaped the ‘NewYear curse’ that was cast on the whole day. We bought parcels for dinner. Was dying to get back to hostel asap and lay hands on it. The empty, grumbling stomach, started growling now.

If you are an LH inmate, or an NITC student, or atleast faintly acquainted with the college, and if you exercise your brains a little, you can easily guess the next part of the day. It was 7.25pm when we reached the hostel, and the hostel guards made a fuss for about 15 minutes before we were let in. We weren’t disappointed, nor pissed –atleast we had food to look forward to. Ate (read gobbled) like 3 hungry beggars who saw food for the first time in the year.

The moon looked big, round and orange.

The juniors had arranged a NewYear party at the basketball court(LH) in which they got us all drenched to the core! :-| The rest of the night was spent in chatting and discussing about the coming farewell....and it was by midnight, that I got back to my room. The things-to-do list was lying on the corner of the bed –all the to-do-things, remained as ‘to-do’! I didn’t study even a single word on day 1. Hope the rest of the year, doesn’t turn out to be as ‘perfect’ as this. :-/

33. 40 Blues

I am nearing 40…and it’s nagging me by the day…Yes, I’m confused…I’m worried. Lines (of concern) have already started showing themselves on my temples…. The thought never was a matter of concern to me –though it used to bother others pretty much (…..my parents, bro, grandparents, uncles, aunts and the rest in the list of people who know nothing better than to worry over you…Ya ya..i know it’s all cos they love me). But now, things have changed; I cannot close my eyes to this anymore.

The stubborn pointer refuses to budge to the right. After weeks of steady decline, now it is as though it’s stuck at 40.If what they say is true, my worry can be rightly justified, for I ought to hit 50 within a span of the next 7 months –a virtually impossible thing for me to accomplish. How the heck am I gonna make it??

Apparently, only then, can I get placed in a decent core company from this college!!!What the *beep*??!
Rumors--true or not, I being the only one in this precarious position among my colleagues, I really need to work on this… all by myself….

So what am I supposed to do? Should I change my college, and go to another where there are no such restrictions? Or should I ditch my branch and take up some software job, and prove a traitor to my branch? Or will I be compelled to go for higher studies so that I’ll have more time to reach 50? Or should I bribe my medical examiner to switch the 4 with a 5? Or should I sabotage the damn weighing machine which refuses to budge? Or should I just eat and grow fat???

30. The last sting!

Bzzzz…zz.z….
Time:11:55pm
Location: an undisclosed beehive, in an undisclosed place.
Bzzzzzzz…….
The hive is buzzing with activity. The QueenB commands her workers to do this and to do that. Mr. B was summoned up and given orders to explore new sites for nectar-flowers. The exploring-new-flower-patches work has to be done at night, in the dark, without taking the risk of being spied by the bees from the enemy base-comb. And this was Mr. B’s first work, outside the comb, at night…Oh yeah…he was a bit excited and nervous of course…
So Mr. B takes off from his base-comb at 00:00hrs and sets out for his mission. It’s a pitch black no moon night, and normal visibility is quite poor. Mr. B switches on to night vision mode and scans the entire area. Soon it spots a shimmer of light near the rose shrub patches in ‘quadrant nine’. The light seemed to be coming from a building and Mr. B hovers around the building to find out the exact location of the light source, wondering how there could possibly be light after the sun had set.
Soon Mr. B reaches a window of the lighted room, and peeps in. Holy Honey! This is where the sun comes to take rest after setting eh?–reduce into a bulbous shape and hang there just like that?? Hmmm…interesting…

Mr. B extends his gaze further into the room and spots a female homo sapien reclining on a bed…Is she asleep? Ha! Hope so…humans are our enemies…they steal our hard earned honey…cruel heartless creatures…Hey but no, she is not asleep. She’s doing something with a ‘TV’ like thingy…but no, this is not the idiot box…I’ve seen enough of ‘em around. This looks like something else, and I think she’s reading from it…Ah! who cares?…let her do her job while I go fetch some honey…so…where are the flowers?
Mr. B enters the room through a small cleft in the wire meshed window, circumnavigates the whole place, and spots a bunch of bright red juicy flowers. Hey this one’s planted in a fancy pot. Never seen one like this before. These human females...they are so funny and fancy. Oops I musn’t linger around here for long. Should test these nectar samples and report it to her highness ASAP. Oh honey! here I come… and Mr. B darts towards the flowers when, Ouch! My fangs! Yuck! what is this thing? This aint real flowers…eek plastic!! Grr...dumb female! Hmph! looks like I entered the wrong territory. Gotta get outta here and go get some real honey.
Mr. B circles around the whole room, to find an exit. Oh no! How did I get in here? How do I get out? Mr. B keeps circling round and round and round till it gets exhausted...Low honey-level! low honey-pressure!…gonna crash…and lower and lower it went until THUD! Mr. B crashed his last and final crash…
Lying on the floor, taking his last few breaths, Mr. B reflects his whole life. Flashes from his life pass by through his mind...childhood, fun moments, loved ones, high and low times of life, the human attack on their base-comb…it regretted even on its death bed, not having taken any revenge on the human species…it felt its stinger twitch and sighed at having made no use of its powerful weapon at the rear. Suddenly the world around him began to quiver…it felt a mild tremor…OMG! what’s this now? An earthquake? Oh No! it’s the human. She’s got out of the bed…and Gulp! She’s heading this way…I’ll be crushed under her feet…What am I gonna do??? But all of a sudden, as the human feet neared the bee, his face broke into a sinister grin………
……………………………………………………………………………………………………
I was lying flat on my bed after a day’s work of chatting, orkutting, and blog hopping…My 4.8kg lappy on my tummy, and my head rested against 2 pillows, I was trying to read myself to sleep. I was struck by the writers' block yet again, and hence had downloaded a dozen of arbit blogs, so that I could get inspired to write again!
The sweet ‘honey-heavy dew of slumber’ was slowly descending upon me…just enough to lull me into sleep. It’s not very often that I get to get good sleep. Sleep often comes as a reluctant visitor, after sessions of twisting and turning around in the bed. In that blissful slumberous state, when I was all too eager to give myself to Morpheus’ hand(dun misunderstand me...its just an expression, I recently learnt from The Hindu literary section) I slowly moved to turn off the light, and was returning to the beckoning bed when, OUCH! Oh my foot!Aaaaaaa...........
…………………………………………………………………………………………………
That was yet another of my numerous encounters with the poly-legged/winged freaks. In the subsequent days, two other XplorerBs followed suit and met with the same fate as their predecessor…Also my foot ended up having 3 hideous swellings…for the next couple of days….grr…DumBs!!!

24. Friends, bloggers, ATM users…

Yeah…so the above mentioned people…lend me your ears(ya am in shortage of ears…)for I have come to telya something important and not to just blah blah!
Last day I went to the ATM to withdraw some cash. There was a man who was already in the ATM counter collecting his cash, so I had to wait for him to get out. I hopped in as soon he got out and guess what I saw in the ATM monitor?
Do you want to continue? Enter YES or NO (a timer was doing count down)
My reflexes, being a little too sensitive, my fingers hit the YES option even before I realized what I was doing. The monitor blinked for a moment and there comes before me another screen:
Welcome Mr shivakumar.(oh! so dat's the guy's name eh?)
I was elated!
Enter your PIN:_ _ _ _
Uh oh! There comes the trouble…But once again my reflexes took the better of me..and once again, before I knew..my fingers punched in four numbers **** (my pass code to be precise).
Incorrect PIN. Try again…
Well this is what I expected to appear on the screen but guess what? Guess again! There comes on the screen the page showing,
DEPOSIT...................FASTCASH
TRANSFER................. CASH WITHDRAWAL
PIN CHANGE............... BALANCE INQUIRY
OTHERS MINI.............. STATEMENT
My excitement knew no bounds…I could have jumped up with excitement. I hit an unknown guy’s unknown PIN correct -a probability of 1 in 9999.Woah!I coudn't wait to tell it to the whole world....
I punched the FAST CASH option and sure enough there comes the next screen with various options…
RS 1000
RS 2000
RS 3000
RS 5000
I got a little scared now! I couldn’t trust myself…so before my reflexes do its nasty play again, I pressed the cancel button and the transaction was cancelled. What would I have done if I had punched in some amount and the money came out?
So next time you use your ATM, make sure that your transaction is complete and you properly log out, cos not everyone will have a problem with using somebody else’s money…
Well…this is what I was planning to blog as soon as the incident took place last week. I was really thrilled by the whole thing and was wondering what could have happened if I had entered some amount, and got the cash…I couldn’t wait to get back home to tell my parents about it. I was infact puffing up with pride that I had acted honest, in a place where I could have treated myself to some bucks. Only later did someone explain to me while I was in the process of narrating to the ‘n’th person, my little 'episode at the ATM' that I was enlightened of the fact that SBI ATMs logs you in with whatever PIN you enter, and you could do all the above mentioned processes without any problem. Only at the last step when you really punch in some amount to withdraw cash, will the monitor show:
Incorrect PIN!try again!.
And that too, you will only have 3 chances of entering incorrect PIN after which the card gets locked automatically…Anyway thanks to the guy, I saved myself from a lot of embarrassment. But still…all you ATM users, please be careful henceforth ;)

11. Musings on the newyear eve....

OMG!!..it's 00:21am....the first hour of the last day of the last week of the last month of 2007...just a few more hours to go...for another year to fade away...Now as I sit here on my bed, with my lappy, contemplating on the previous one year...I realise.... I havent blogged at all this month ...gotta cook up something fast...

What better way to end an year, than to venture to do something I havent ever done before! So here I am, making an attempt to do on-the-spot-blogging.Ya I know it doesnt sound all that great, but for the lazy-bum that I am....it IS a BIG thing...especially considering the enormous amount of effort I normally put in to create a single post! The monotonous laborious work of drafing a hard copy manuscript in my diary; editing it; making a soft copy in MSword; editiing it; re-editiing it; re-re-editing it...and finally, after many painstaking hours or days or sometimes even weeks....a post finally gets churned out...phew!!

Hmmm...so what should I write about??hmmm??aaa...my eyes wander around the room aimlessly....until it rests on my lil 'notice board'.There, on a corner, lies the 'LOST' post-it-note where I have jotted down the things I have lost over the past 1 semester. Well... these are the things that I've lost over the past 4 months....okay..only the ones that i remeber have been laid down here...

1.A gold earing(this particular earring kept on falling off my ears many a times and I kept on finding it back, until one day, finally it decided to ditch me forever...later I came to find out that the 'chechi' who sweeps the hostel had found my earring on the ground but thinking that it might be an imitation one,(due to the patches of white gold on it)....she dumped it in the waste bin:(...my poor earring is now reportedly resting in the dump pit of the NIT ladies' hostel….sigh :(

2.A small gold star of my gold bracelet(well i hadnt noticed its loss for quite some days...when finally when I noticed, I realized it too might have found its resting place like my earring, and i never bothered to search for it...)

3.A 5-movie containing dvd(infact it was presented to me by a friend:(...shhh dont tell him that its lost...hope he doesnt read this...:P)

4.A brand new t-shirt(have no clue as to where it disappeard!)

5.My lovely party-wear skirt...(ok..this one was not lost by me...but by a crazy who borrowed it to wear...hmpf!!she still hasnt replaced it...hope she reads this...:D )

6.Hmmm...oh yeah! and I've lost one password too...the one to my internet banking account...(Not a very good thing to lose, I must advise...Gosh! the hell lot of trouble it created to me on the day of my registration day!!)

7.'v' pens, 'w' pencils, 'x' erazers, 'y' sharpeners, 'z' rulers...(where v,w,x,y,z are arbitrary constants, whose value I've lost count of...)

....the list doesnt end there...but voila...another blog is ready... time to log off...cya!

Happy 2008!!!
(Hope I'll tend to lose less things this year!!!keeping fingers crossed ;))

9. The Game continues.....

This is total crap. DUMB I’ll say. To be frank, I wouldn’t have ventured to write this post if not for obvious reasons. Well…no prizes for guessing the reasons…Ya, I have yet again been affected by the looso-musia-syndrome. Dearth of topics to write about, coupled with the constant nagging of fella-bloggers who had tagged me eons ago compelled me to commit this act. And of course, a little publicity will never hurt.…so here I am, having finally joined the... er…what was it??...ya the “8RF” club.

Yup..so I’ve been Tagged by the devil and the game continues(grumble)...

Here are the rules:
1.Players start with 8 random facts about themselves.
2.Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts.
3.Players should tag 8 other people and notify them they have been tagged.

So here goes the Eight random facts about myself:

#1. I’m one li’l lazy bump. My laziness knows no bounds. It can take any form ranging from waiting at length for someone to pass by to take that li’l notebook from my cupboard to postponing this post by nearly 2 months….
But I simply love bugging people(read my testimonials ppl…). I bug people irrespective of their caste, creed, colour, sex, sect, age etc…etc…etc.

#2. The less tastier the food supplied to me is, the more I tend to eat. Believe it or not, I gained 5kilos by the end of my first year at college, surviving only on the mess food(yuk!..).Weird…Ain’t I?

#3. I’m a Hindi-challenged person. No matter how hard I try, Hindi and I never get along(sniff…sniff…) during the past one year I have witnessed many a northy friends of mine fleeing the scene when I start jabbering in ‘hindi’ :(

#4. I’m basically a night-bird. My grey cells seem to get activated only after the stroke of 12, which is why many of my blogs are posted after midnight.

#5. I’m not afraid of darkness; nor of heights, roller coaster rides; of ghosts, zombies, demons, draculas, haunted stuffs, horror films/books etc…but a tiny li’l spidy can scare me off my wits!Ya, i'm a lil arachnophobic....

#6. I hate dressing up. I find it a great burden when I am supposed to get dressed up for a wedding or a birthday party. I’m most comfortable in my bro’s shabby old T-shirts and shorts.

#7. Till 9th standard I hadn’t read much, other than Tinkle, Archies, Balarama, Balabhumi etc.(Of course, I’m not talking about text books). But now, having discovered the wonderful world of words, I cant live without books.(Of course again, I’m not talking about text books..i can do very well without ‘em).

#8. As a child, I have always wanted to be an astronaut –conquering the space; being another Kalpana Chawla; when even the sky cannot be the limit…Aaah!!.. But here I am, now stranded in the Civil-dept, not knowing where to step next…Somebody help me!!!
